Congrats to RIG'S RUNNER
Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 12:44PM In the $140,000 Eddy County Stakes for juvenile New Mexico-bred males, Darrell Riggan’s Rig’s Runner edged away from Huntin The Trash in the final furlong to win the one-mile test in 1:40.30.
Jockey Casey Lambert rated Rig’s Runner off the pace and he rallied with Huntin With Trash while rounding the final turn. Rig’s Runner continued to put pressure on Huntin the Trash to prevail by one-and-a-quarter lengths. My Picasso was never a factor and finished 15 lengths behind Huntin The Trash for third in the full field.
The Cliff Lambert-trained Rig’s Runner has been sharp in his latest four starts with three wins and a second in the New Mexico Juvenile Colts and Geldings Championship at Zia Park. He also won the George Maloof Futurity at The Downs at Albuquerque during the streak.
Congratulations to Mr. Riggan as well as trainer, Cliff Lambert.
